Starwood Preferred Guest - Sheraton Noosa and Sheraton Gold Coast

I am planning to go Australia in November and this two hotels look good. How far apart are they? Does it make sense to spend, let's say, four nights each. If so, where to fly into and in what order do the itinerary? Thank you in advance for your help.

As a local who has stayed at both (and about to stay at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast on Sunday using a V03CAT Award), I'll give you some background and previous topics which should help.

Firstly, distance. Sheraton Noosa Resort is located 150kms north of Brisbane [nearest airport Maroochydore (MCY) is about 20 minutes by car]. Trip from Brisbane by car should take 90 minutes.

Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast is located at Main Beach, Gold Coast [nearest airport Coolangatta (OOL) is 45 minutes south]. Trip from Brisbane by car should take 60 minutes.

We have a 2-lane (each way) highway (Federal Highway #1) from Brisbane north to Noosa; while Brisbane to Gold Coast is on the same Highway heading south, 2-lane initially, expanding to 4-lane half-way down.

4 days in each would be very relaxing ^ . You are right in the thick of the action in Noosa (which is somewhat muted compared with the Gold Coast).

Weather-wise, it will be starting to be really warm, expect 25-35 degrees Centigrade and afternoon thunderstorms.

We just stayed at Noosa in January & it was WONDERFUL.... be sure to walk along the paved walkways through the state parks (along the coastline), be on the lookout, because you WILL see wild koalas... look carefully, they blend in with those trees. I totally recommend Noosa, it was a highlight of our trip. We drove up from Sanctuary Cove, which is not far from the Sheraton Gold Coast (where I wish we'd stayed...) The drive is beautiful... Also, while you're in Noosa, you might want to go camel riding along black sands beach, that was also a highlight of our trip. If feeding dolphins is in your sight, go visit www.tangalooma.com, we just went for an overnight trip there (we just brought a bag with us from our regular hotel room)....
