Many of the rooms are not renovated, all rooms are small, and there's always chaos in the lobby. It does however have one of the nicer city hotel gyms I've ever seen and you can use the pool at the Sheraton Manhattan across the street. Never stayed at the 4P Chelsea - although I think it's more in the Flower District if anyone calls it that anymore hvnflyer Apr 10, 04, 11:01 am I would avoid the Sheraton NY Towers. I am a platnium and they put me in an ADA room. I complained and they switched me to a renovated room which wasn't much better. The rooms are small, and very dark. The HVAC needs to be replaced as it was a warm day and they were unable to put on the AC. Try the Westin in Times Square, excellent propery rgoel Apr 10, 04, 6:35 pm Pictures and reviews of the NY Sheraton Towers at HotelScoop: http://www.hotelscoop.com/hotelDetail1a.php?Hotelid=6332 Nothing on the FP Chelsea. txhem Apr 10, 04, 8:59 pm The FP Chelsea is okay. Rooms are well decorated, for a FP, but tiny as expected. Windows (at least in my room) went from wall-to-wall left-to-right, but were not tall at all, giving the room a constantly dark look even with bright light outside; could also be from the dark furnishings. Going along the tiny theme is the lobby, which has space for maybe three people in line for check-in; after that it's actually difficult to walk through. The two elevators are small and very slow if you are on a higher floor. Given that the hotel just opened, I'd vote for this over the Sheraton; however, I agree with hvnflyer, check out the Westin Times Square, my favorite *wood property in NYC in terms of location and value. |
