I specifically held a meeting at the Sheraton Parsippany to help me qualify for the ridiculous $4,500 promo. I spent over $700 on a 4 hour meeting. I made a specific point when booking the meeting that I wanted to earn starpoints and please make sure my SPG number appeared on the final bill. It took 3 days to even receive my bill and then I had to call and complain just to receive that! The bill did not have my SPG number on it. The charges have all hit my personal credit card but no Starpoints have been credited. When I called and complained about my SPG number not being on the printed bill they stated it was in the system and to just be patient. It has never taken this long and I really want those hotel points to count towards the $4500 spend.

Can you help me Starwood Lurker?

1) william is on leave.
2) meeting points accrue at 1 point for $3, i believe.

Have you faxed the charges into SPG Customer Service? I have never had problems getting proper credit when providing them with the information that they need in order to rectify the situation.

Ok, as a corporate meeting planner, I can tell your SPG number is in the system. It is never shown on the bill and they will credit your points usually 30 days after they received your payment (which it looks like they have it already). I assume you worked with a sales or catering manager - only they can submit the points for you. Make sure tell them you need the points right away and do follow up with them once a week. (Sometimes they forget...). Unfortunately, the SPG customer service staff can not help you but only your hotel contact can submit the paperwork.

Unfortunately it is only 1 point for every $3 spent which is a really bummer considering all other meeting programs offer 1 to $1.

If you have any questions, let me know. I've been through this too many times to count. (Waiting for meeting points to post as well as bugging the sales/catering manager). I wish they had a better system (although some hotels are sometimes better than others).
