Hilton HHonors - Hampton Inn Ithaca, NY. Opens May 2, staying the 7th. Should I worry?

I've never stayed at a Hampton Inn before, but I've booked my first stay at the Hampton Inn in Ithaca, NY for May 7-9. At hilton.com when you book this hotel, it tells you that the hotel is only taking reservations for stays after May 2.
Should I worry that there will be a delay in the finishing of the hotel and that my reservation will be no good? How close to the date they'll take reservations for are they in opening their hotels on average?

I'll be interested to see how this all turns out. I'm staying there in June and after some difficulty got a room for Cornell reunion weekend only after calling the local number for the hotel. The rez has not been posted on my Hilton profile and the confirmation I got came from hamptoninnithaca@aol.com! At $149 a night, I'm hoping for the best.

Excellent!
I visit Ithaca every fall and while most of the team stays at the Ramada, I'm a Hilton man so I stay at the Syracuse HGI and drive down (cheaper to fly there, anyway), so having a Hilton option in Ithaca is great!

I got a AAA rate of $116.10 from the internethamp@hiltonres.com address.
I also called the Hampton Inn Ithaca, and they are opening this Wednesday, April 7. So my reservation should be just fine.

The hotel usually manages to open a week or two at least before the online date at hilton.com. I believe they leave plenty of slack in the reservation times.

I'll be there May 7-9. Has anyone stayed there yet and can give me an idea about how nice the hotel is and if being a Gold HH Member will get me any upgrade or other goodies?

I happened to drive by the hotel on Sunday, 11th April, and they had a "now open" banner hanging. Presumably, then, they're open for business already.

FYI: Next year, you should have a second Hilton option in Ithaca. There is a Hilton Garden Inn being developed downtown. It is expected to open sometime in 2005.

Woohoo! I love HGIs.
Finally, more lodging options in ITH.....about time. When I was there the Days Inn was considered an "upscale" property.....

What were your impressions of the hotel from the outside? How is it's location?

Is the HI located opposite or next to the Wegman's or TOPS supermarkets? Haven't been to ITH in some 12 years.

Has anyone had the chance to stay at the Hampton Inn Ithaca? Any early reviews on it?
