Great Spanish restaurant on Fish Hatchery Rd heading south of Madison.

They have a very nice wine bar with a ton of hot and cold tapss to choose from. Very good atmosphere and the paella is served with a nice portion of seafood. If you order one of their trademark dishes (such as the paella), then it's personally dished to your plate by the owner--great touch!

Prices are reasonable $15 to $30 for what's considered upscale dining. You could easily make a meal just at the wine bar with the tapas, something I'm going to do on my next visit.

Would this place handle a large group 10-14 folks?

Thanks,

I think this restaurant serves some of the best paella anywhere in the US. I have tried it in Miami, Tampa, and many other places. This Wisconsin restaurant has to be one of the best !!!

How does this compare to Spain? Is it authentic Spanish or "Americanized" Spanish?

My curiosity is definitely piqued!

My sources tell me this place has closed down and a new restaurant has been opened in the same space. :(

Oh well, off to Cafe Iberico, Bravo, or Emilio's... :D

Your Mother, I mean sources ;) are indeed correct, I had suggested this place for the upcoming Madison Dinner on Aug 17 after reading this thread on La Paella, when one of the fellow FT'ers mentioned it was closed, details on the upcomig Madison dinner here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=712148
