My nephew is a freshman at Marquette University in Milwaukee. I had promised that I would take him out for dinner some evening and seeing as he has finals and is going back home to Columbus Ohio this Thursday, this weekend had to be the time to live up to my promise.

As we were headed to a pizza joint, I had asked Joe to invite a few of his friends if he wished.

I left Chicago at 4:15pm and showed up two minutes early to my promised 5:30pm time, Joe and two of his friends hoped in the car.
Zaffiro’s is a small tavern setting with red/white gingham table cloths and subdued lighting. The pizza smelled heavenly and I was looking forward to a good thin crust pizza.

We were not disappointed, the crust was very thin and very crispy w/just the right amount of tasty sauce, cheese and of course sausage for the topping.

A large was gone in minutes, good thing the waitress had mentioned that we should eat some appetizers before the pizza or else we would have waited and ordered another large.

I can highly recommend Zaffiro’s in Milwaukee for a really good thin crust pizza.

I agree with the wise Sweet Willie .

As my son and I passed through MKE, we were directed to this place by the original poster. ;)

This was the thinnest crust I've ever enjoyed. My son said it was cracker thin.
I might even suggest that it beats out Chicago deep dish pizza; but that's a topic for another discussion.

The restaurant is bar like in atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. We had a large pepperoni and cheese with 2 sodas. Cost with tip was $18 total.

We were able to have a large pie because of the thin crust. Not a lot to fill you up. No wasted bread. :o We could have eaten a 2nd pie. This was so good. And as a New Yorker, I know pizza.

So if you're ever in MKE, or even Chicago, this place is worth the drive. ^ ^

On Sunday evening, took my nephew who goes to Marquette and some of his roomates out for pizza and beer at Zaffiro's.

This place still serves some of the best thin crust in the midwest for sure, possibly the US. ^ ^ ^

Our group of 5 went through 3 large pizzas, probably could have easily had one more.

Don't miss this pizza joint if you are in the Milwaukee area !!!
