Guernica is a nice romantic little Basque restaurant on Bridgeway in Sausalito, which has offered iDine miles for the last few months. It's been on the list before, and hopefully it will stay this time. The basic menu tends toward French, but there's also Spanish influence.

Best dish on the menu, in my opinion, is the Paella with seafood. Other dishes are more standard older dishes, which my wife complains are tired. About $14-20 for each entree, and a full salad & dessert on every dinner is, I think, about $3 more.

Gambas, chicken, duck and lamb are all good to me. I guess she really prefers the nouvelle style, rather than classic sauces.

They have a guitar player on Fridays and Saturdays, which is nice. The quality of the food and service is good. I can't complain in any way as I die for the paella, and always come home stuffed.

Very highly recommended (by me at least).

Thanks for your recommendation.

I have a little trouble with the name, Guernica. How can you not think Picasso and war and, and, and, ...

Agree with your wife, the newer, lighter French is more attuned to my palette, but it's nice there's somewhere locally that serves the real thing.

Have you tried Avatar? I haven't but heard it offer everything fusion.
