Asia - BKK Meeting Point?

If I arrive BKK from NRT on UA 837, and a colleague wants to meet me to transport me to my hotel, where should I tell him to meet me? Not sure if I arrive at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.
(I've only flown in/out of BKK on SQ and as usual didn't pay much attention to anything other than retrieving my bag and getting a taxi.)
Thanks.

I hit Dom Muang 6 times a year....Now occasionally the UA Bags will pop up on a carousel in the oppsite terminal. You can walk 5 min to the other baggage area. Meeting will occur out side the bag hall, beyond the customs check. There will be a fenced area to keep other greeters/hawkers back and 1 and 2 look the same. Have them meet you inside and stay inside till meet up. Do they have a Thai Mobile as the tourist board would call him no problem!
I find BKK no problem....Shite, even the little Darlings who will be packing the areas waiting for the MALE Friends/walking ATM's to arrive! ( not jaded, just a Thailand frequent visitor whom has a keen sense of the obvious and about 20 trips in 3.5 years!
P.S. you'll likely be busses from the south end of the cargo tarmac to the arival hall area. No problem, I use the time to get my Thai Mobile (Boom-Hot-Line0 logged on!

Thanks.
BTW, do you use a Thai pre-paid SIM? If so, can you recommend a provider? (I was looking at 0ne-2-Call as I need a GSM 900 network. I have a Singapore M1 pre-paid SIM that does allow for roaming so I can make/receive calls in Thailand.)

I use an AIS prepaid SIM in Thailand. They have the best coverage, and use GSM900. SIM is 700 baht, IIRC. I don't know if it allows for limited roaming; if so, most of Europe is not included (I tried using it in several countries to keep it alive, I believe it expires 6 months after last use).
Stay away from newcomer Orange, which has very spotty coverage, despite all their advertising.
I believe TAC and Orange use GSM1800, while AIS appears to be GSM900 only.

Thai Sim Cards...
AS to AIS one-2-call the longer you keep it the longer it stays alive. Add more minutes and it extends, my that # is good unitll mid 2005, but I uses about 1000 baht every other month. Best thing is your LD costs are cheap. I just put a note on my US Cell to leave a message etc. I cost me about 1USD to p/u my info using my Thai mobile. I need a local number for business and pleasure@##$$%.
There a great deals on one-2.-call sim cards
from reseller shops. The prices have gone down over the last 3 years. I bought a "friend" a sim card for 300 baht that came with 500 baht free air time. As to the MgHz issue, I have unlocked Tri Band phones but shite you can get a phone so much cheaper in Thailand one ought to buy one there.

If you have a 900/1800 mghz phone and it is locked you can get it unlocked in Thailand at many places like MBK or PanTip in BKK
or us this online service.

You may be able to get that done for free from you provider at home.
I think there sould be a section on intl mobile info!

Just to follow up:
Meeting point: When I came out of Customs I turned left and walked down the concourse. About 100 m down is where the meeting point is, not too many people maybe 100. No problem finding my colleague. (Note that there was also a group of greeters, mostly hotel limos like the Shangri-la, to the right after you exit Customs.) I came into Terminal 2 on UA, we got a regular gate and had just a few minutes wait at Immigration.
Pre-paid SIM: I ended up getting a one-2-Call (AIS) pre-paid SIM at one the dozens of shops at Mah Boon Krong (MBK), on the third or fourth level? I purchased the SIM for b500, and I think it came with some amount of talk-time, and 30 or 60 days of "life". I purchased a few b500 top-up/refill cards. Each time I topped it up, two or three months of "life" were added. I think it costs b22 per minute to call the U.S.? DTAC does seem to support GSM900 as that network showed up on my phone, which is GSM900 only. (I was spoiled with my Singapore M1 SIM, all english prompts, good SMS, great roaming, getting an SMS after each call updating remaining $$$, and expiration date. After you top up the one-2-Call SIm you do get an SMS with baht value remianing and expiration date.)

one-2-call lets you roam internationally, like SingTel's hello SIM. (Need to register at an outlet, though.) As you point out, an amazing thing about one-2-call is it seems you can just extend the 'life' of the SIM each time you top up endlessly.
connected with a pedestrian bridge to he airport is the luxurious Bangkok airport Amari hotel with a very nice bar at entrance = ground level.
Great meeting point.
