I need to transit in BKK...my flight arrives around 11 am in terminal 2, and my connecting AY flight departs also from terminal 2 at 3:40 pm...a couple of questions:

- would I be able to get the boarding pass at the transfer desk for my AY flight right after my arrival, like 5 hours before departure?

- if not, then do I need to wait there until say 2-3 hours before departure, or can I go thru security without the onward boarding pass, and have the boarding pass issued say at the BA/CX lounge or somewhere?

thanks a lot !!

While I can't help you with when the transfer desk can issue your BP, here is some helpful information.

From what I recall, you are pretty much free to wander around airside (even between 1 & 2 which are really one long terminal). There's nothing to stop you from going between arrivals level and departures level and going to the lounge (the 2 transfer/connection desks connect these 2 floors). Not sure if the other OW airlines can issue you BPs (who handles for AY at BKK?)

Security is at the entrances to the piers so you don't go through security until you are going to the gate lounge.
