I will be arriving on a Saturday afternoon 02/15 and I need to get to Mountain View (El Camino&Grant)

I can rent a car, but I am just curious if there are any other options at all on weekends. Train it seems dont operate on weekends. Any tips please.

Or is it just impossible to take any public transit and driving is the only way to go

How I wish one could hop into the train from the arrival hall like one can do now in KualaLumpur, HongKong and Singapore ( with some effort)

thanks!

I think Caltrain is not working weekends anymore. Also if you want to take a bus, I think there is a no baggage clause to protect the shuttle busses.

You can probably figure out a way to do it via public transit, but it would be convoluted. Take a car.

BTW, the reason that BART doesn't serve locales in San Matepo and Santa Clara County is that when the system was originally built, those counties (and Marin) opted not to pay the .5% sales tax required to join. The original vision of a system ringing the Bay was done in by local politics.

BTW you will be able to take BART from SFO in 1-2 (3? 4?) months but it won't go to Mountain View. A shame IMHO.

yeah, but it'll have a direct connection to Caltrain, which will take you to Mountain View, which is not so bad. The weekend shutdown is a pain, but once it's over, it could even be better than BART (with speedy express service).
