California - OAK security lines - How long at night?

Am connecting through OAK in January and have 90 minutes between flights. Want to catch up with an old friend. I don't know how this is possible in light of the new security procedures. My question: Is it feasible to leave the secured area of the concourse to meet my friend, visit, and get back through security in time to catch flight? I arrive on jetblue at 9:50 p.m. and leave after 11 p.m. Any suggestions appreciated!

Missing the Wings of Man, Whisperliners, and the overall civility in air travel!

They seem to be "under control" these days, although night at OAK is really out of hand. Last night at about 10pm, the traffic report on the radio was about 30 mins from 880 to the airport on Hegenberger Rd. And this is not uncommon lately. A few months back (after about 8pm), it took me about 40 mins to get from 880 to the OAK airport Hilton (a 2 minute drive, normally). People were running down Hegenberger with luggage with over a mile yet to go.

So, I think the real issue has changed from the one you considered, and is a real consideration these days...
