I'll be flying through SFO on United this week and want to mail a postcard from the airport. Are there any mailboxes within the airport anymore? I believe they may have been removed for security issues?? Thanks.

It will depend a lot on which airline you are flying. Moving from concourse to concourse you have to leave and re-enter secured areas.
UA used to have one at the end of the moving walkways across from the RCC. But I can't remeber if it was still there last time I went through.
All the others are located outside the secured areas. There's one outside the US ticket counters and one near the UA ticket counters.

I think there's still a drop box on the lower level by AA baggage claim near all of the P.O. boxes, but I could be wrong.

And most probably lounge staff would mail your postcard for you if you ask them nicely.

Yes, it's still there. It's close to the lateral exit of the terminal into a (small) parking lot -- just walk past all of AA luggage claim, keep on going past the escalators, and it's on the right side.

Also, the info at http://www.flysfo.com/guide_nonflash/index.html (click on general services -- postage service) not only confirms this, but says that there are "Mailboxes are located outside the airport on the upper level roadway" -- but am not sure where.
