California - 1:55 T2 to T2 Connection?

Now I know that this is a perfectly legal connection time, but is it realistic?

I will be arriving on NZ at 06:05 and continuing on to YYZ on AC. Im currently booked on the noon service on Jan 1 and wouldn't mind saving myself a 6 hour layover in LAX, but how realistic are my chances of making the 8am service should I change my reservation across? (I'm presuming that I shouldn't have too many problems should I miss it getting a seat on one of the later services with an H class ticket and Star Gold, on January 1st)

Does one actually have to go out into the arrivals hall and then find ones way to the checkin area and recheck ones baggage in - or is there a trasit dropoff point within the cutoms area itself?

I have never fly on NZ. But with NW, which is also at T2, there should be no problem.

In NW's case, you don't have to go out and re-check in. There is a counter at arrival that you can re-check in your luggage.

Since you are going to YYZ, I think you can check your luggages all the way to YYZ. You are only making a connection at LAX.
