We are in dire need of a holiday in May/June - prefer to spend it in a European resort - preferably with a beach, and also child-friendly - any recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Check the CIGA hotels in the Starwood chain. Keep in mind they have a funny dining policy.

Why not try the new Mardavall Spa, Luxury Collection property outside of Palma, Mallorca?
Temperature should be nice, lots of nice reviews, new hotel, oversized rooms etc.

I just made reservatons for Hotel Le Grimaldi in Nice. If the rooms really look like their website, the place will be fabulous.

My rate for single use of a double room is 85 euros for March 18-23. Check it out.

Thanks, everyone for the suggestions - looks like we're going to book at the Forte resort in Sardinia - very luxe (on the high end of the resort), great sounding Thalssotherapy spa, well-reviewed restaurants, and also a children's program for our daughter - something for everyone!

Info is available on the Le Meridien site which then directs you to a special Forte site which doesn't seem to have a separate URL. First heard about it via Abercombie and Kent (UK site) and later confirmed by several colleagues/friends. Only negative: very very expensive!
