It's nice to see that things are starting to pick up as to discussion topics. For a while, it seemed as though we were focused on only a couple of threads. Here's a topic that I know I'm interested in and hopefully others are too.

Does anyone know of any web-sites/companies/etc. that are specifically geared towards matching up members of the GLBT community as traveling companions? Has anyone used such a service in the past and, if so, what was your experience?

My partner and I enjoyed traveling and I still like to travel, however, since he passed away, I don't look forward to traveling alone. I found the following web-site that allows people to search for traveling companions but I'm curious as to what other options are available.

Any others have experience in this area?

Is there such an forum on FT? Or, were you saying we could start a thread here? I wouldn't want to ruffle anyone's feathers and start a flame war. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

Hey... I'm all for travelling companions especially at GLBT sites. I dont' feel that it's a 'similar' post if posted on the main FT board but then we do have our preferences as to who we'd like to sit next to on mileage runs.

It's not a 'dating' service but still we have to see if we're compatible. ie Star vs Oneworld flights, one would upgrade to First and one woudln't mind sitting in coach, one would do the criscross route to final destination and the other wouldn't, one is a daybird and the other is a nightowl. One is smoker and the other non. One has a partner, and the other doesn't...

Well you get the picture.

Guy Betsy,

As long as you were upgrading me, I would force myself to be ok with your sitting in Coach... http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

I assume THAT is what you meant? http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

Whoever travels with me, gets the same treatment as I.

That is if I'm sitting in coach, you won't be upgraded. But then again, I do have over 50+ electronic upgrades on my AA account and it seems such a waste not to use them!
