I received the following email yesterday Dear gleff,

Thank you for your continued business with Orbitz. We appreciate how often you turn to us to book your travel, and we value you as a customer. You're so valuable, in fact, that you've reached a premier status at Orbitz, our VIP level.

They're just one way of expressing our gratitude for your
ongoing business.

To learn more about your gifts, simply click on the gift box below.

We want you to know that as an Orbitz VIP, you are always our top priority. We look forward to helping you with all your future travel needs.

Orbitz.comSo what does one get, exactly, by being an Orbitz VIP? Look here: http://vip.orbitz.com/sharpersony_e/

It's just coupons for Sharper Image and Sony Music Store.

You'd think that they could at least give a VIP customer number that reaches competent CSRs ... http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif

Ditto here. I think it is Orbitz equivalent to being on a "Priority Waitlist" rather than the run-of-the-mill waitlist.

Priority waitlist, or priority spamlist? http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif

Last Monday I received an email announcing a new Orbitz VIP phone number. Don't know if this is completely bogus or not, but if it cuts down on hold times (for the rare occasion I'd need to call them.. it's been more than a year) it'll be great.

Dear Gary,
What does it mean to be an Orbitz VIP? It means you deserve helpful service every time you contact us.

From time to time, our phone lines can get very busy. But as an Orbitz VIP, you've earned priority attention no matter when you call. That's why we're writing you today with two VIP services exclusively for you.

Your Orbitz VIP Customer Service Phone Number is 1-XXX-XXXXXXXX. This exclusive toll-free number connects you to customer service specialists who are ready to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's a great way to reach us if you need to change your reservation or get general assistance.

As an Orbitz VIP, you also have an exclusive VIP Customer Service E-mail Address at XXXXXXXX@XXXXX.XXX. Now every message you send us will receive the VIP attention and priority handling it deserves.

All of us at Orbitz genuinely appreciate your business. And we certainly hope you enjoy your exclusive VIP services.

Thank you again for being an Orbitz VIP.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Katz

I didnt get it but although I often book via the Orbitz internet site, I have never had an occasion to call them.

I've never actually booked via Orbitz, but the one time I phoned I had no hold time to speak of. The couple of times that I've asked inquiries by email, those have also been handled quickly.
