I'd like to bid on Priceline for Millenium Hotel in NY (Lower Manhattan) for Aug 29. Does anyone know if it's a 3* or 4* hotel?
Thanks!

It's a 4*, but keep in mind you have no way of knowing which hotel you will get if you use Priceline.

I got into the Millennium via PL for a weekend stay. I think I paid $65 or so. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that 1) we were upgraded to the posh VIP minihotel next door, I forget what they call it; and 2) there was ample on-street MuniMeter parking, good essentially all weekend, bring a roll or two of quarters! The VIP hotel-within-a-hotel came with the use of a free lounge with fruit, cheese, snax, beer, wine. The only downside was: the rooms, though nice, were really small; there were no ice machines. Ice was supposed to be available by calling your Personal Concierge, he never showed so I wound up walking through the lobby to the "normal" Millennium Hotel and getting ice from their ice machines. Passing the VIP concierge with my full ice bucket woke him from his slumber, he asked, "Didn't anybody get you your ice yet?"

I think that mbstone's post is in reference to the Millennium Broadway hotel (on W. 44th Street) - the hotel-within-a-hotel sounds like the "Premier" section of the M-B.

thqu60 referenced Lower Manhattan in his/her initial post - I assume this is the Hilton across from the WTC site.
