Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Confusion about Resorts & Free Re-bids-Las Vegas

Perhaps I am thick-head, but zones that have Resorts listed confuse me. Take for instance bidding for a 5* or even a 4* hotel on the Strip. Is the Henderson zone that has Resort, 2 & 2.5* listings and the NW Las Vegas zone that has Resort, 1, 2, 2.5* listings considered Free Rebids? Just how do Resorts fit in? I don't want anything other than a 4 or 5* hotel on the Strip. Tks!

Its my understanding that Resorts count the same as 4*, so Henderson and NW Las Vegas are out for rebids if you're chasing a 4* or 5* on the Strip.

I was going to post on this thread yesterday but I chickened out because I have never done resort rebidding and there is no consensus on the bidding boards on how PCLN classifies resorts in terms of star level compare: http://www.biddingfun.com/page5.html with http://pub210.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexpediabiddingmemberannouncements.sho wMessage?topicID=1032.topic

With all that said, if resorts are considered 4* wouldn't Downtown also be out as a free rebid if you are chasing a 4-5* on the strip?

Yes, because the Golden Nugget is a 4* (not because there are resorts downtown).

BTW, I've done many rebids on Strip/Vegas, and if you're chasing 4/5*s on the Strip, there's nothing to worry about. Avoid Downtown, Henderson, and North Las Vegas, and you'll be fine.
