On Orbitz $779 (via Hawaiian)
On Hawaiianair.com $477

I booked the $477 fare and have received a confirmation number so I am sure the fare is valid.

Now I can fully understand why WN demanded that Orbitz not quote (or misquote as the case may be) their fares.

BTW: I did not even try to price this trip on Hotwire or Priceline because I wanted a non-stop.

Are you sure what you found via Hawaiian Air wasn't a special promotion? I think that anything under $500 for flight to Hawaii has to be a special fare. Such being said, it's my understanding that Orbitz doesn't publish special fares for several airlines.

When booking travel online it's always best to check several sources...I've been using Orbitz for a while and while they have been the lowest price on many occasions, sometimes they're not.

Orbitz's claim to fame is that it has access to Internet special fares of participating airlines on the site.

However, I am not shurprised. I always use Sidestep.
