I'm looking to book a hotel room last minute for London.
Are there any good last minute hotel consolidators on-line I should try?

Are there any good last minute hotel consolidators on-line I should try? ASUGymn Aug 6, 02, 1:21 pm Although not a consolidator, many people have reported good results using Priceline for last minute hotel bookings in London. For comments see: http://pub109.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexpediabiddingfrm215 I have never used PCLN for bookings outside of the US but all of my US PCLN bookings have been favorable. squeakr Aug 6, 02, 1:54 pm <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by OfficeGlenn: I'm looking to book a hotel room last minute for London. I don't know how useful it is at all, but LastMinute.com http://www.lastminute.com/ is a UK-based last-minute-centric (obviously) travel site. There are several other such sites (put "last minute travel" into Google) which may or may not be of use. cordelli Aug 6, 02, 3:57 pm I've had good luck in London at times with hotelbook.com . If you have a favorite hotel, try calling them directly, they will sometimes have some very good rates they give over the telephone. gnomie Aug 6, 02, 4:05 pm If your stay includes a weekend, try the weekend break specials at: www.thistlehotels.com (http://www.thistlehotels.com) Also, another great site is: www.laterooms.com (http://www.laterooms.com) I have used both (just came back from London last night) and have been able to get great deals, the prices usually include VAT and full English breakfast OfficeGlenn Aug 8, 02, 10:11 am Thanks for all your help. I managed to secure a 4* hotel room in London through Priceline for $62 US (taxes included), which I thought was a great deal. CrazyOne Aug 8, 02, 9:44 pm Sounds like an excellent deal to me. Would have liked to know the hotel, though, just for curiosity/reference. (If you come back to read this again, consider posting the name, and if it's after the trip, how the hotel was too!) I'm finding it harder and harder to consider anything but Priceline for hotels, even if I end up with a slightly less conveniently located one. I mean, 62 bucks PL 4* in London, that makes me think I should be planning a trip. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/smile.gif OfficeGlenn Aug 9, 02, 10:47 am Got the Copthorne Tara Kensington. The reviews of this hotel on the 'Net have been mixed, but for the price, I really can't complain. <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by CrazyOne: Sounds like an excellent deal to me. I read through the remarks on BFT; they seemed to get better as time went on, which is at least a bit encouraging. Still sounds like good deal for location. |
