Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Miles Posting with Orbitz?

Anyone have problems getting miles posted using Orbitz? Just curious as I just booked a flt. with them for the first time.

No experience but I don't think miles posting has anything to do with the travel agency. As long as you verify your FF number is on your record when you check in, it should be no different than booking through the airline directly.

You won't get any bonus miles, but the miles will post just fine, mine always have. Like always, make sure your boarding pass has your FF number on it and keep some record of the trip that has the ticket number on it (since Orbitz can be really bad about getting you a ticket number) just in case.

There are some rumors that some deeply discounted fares will no longer qualify for miles, but right now they are just rumors.

I assume cordelli means bonus miles for booking through an airline's website.

My bonus miles (due to elite airline status) have always posted no problems as well as my normal status miles.

If its a published fare its eligible for miles. I've used Expedia once on US and the miles posted as fast as if I had booked directly with them.

I think the point is that some of Orbitz's fares and some of the airlines' own online systems' fares are internet only and there's fears raising occasionally about them. Most of the concerns (outside Priceline and Hotwire tix) involve upgrades, though.

My Orbitz tix have earned miles and status bonuses without a problem.
