All Starwood properties offer late checkout to their Preferred Plus, Gold, and Platinum members (getting a free the first year Starwood Amex -- the best mileage earning card anyway -- makes you Preferred Plus). Late checkout is 4pm.
The Four Points LAX offers 24 hour rates, so if you go for one of those then if you check in late you can check out late.
