Man...it's been a lot of years, but I used to go to La Costa quite often and it was fabulous.

Any experience with hotels in del mar or la jolla? There is not ocean in Atlanta and I would like a view. I can't afford 300 per night but around 200 would be okay.

I stayed at l'auberge in December '02 for our 15th wedding anniversary. It was nice, but not spectacular. We did not use any spa services.
The room did not have an ocean view, but a two minute walk from the room and you had some lovely panoramas. Restaurant prices at the hotel where very high, btw.
However nearly across the street is "Pacifica Del Mar", which is probably my favorite seafood restaurant in California.

Just got back from La Costa. The facilities are nice (but getting a bit aged and worn) but I was not too impressed with the customer service from the staff. "Indifferent" comes to mind...
