Please let me know of your opinion of the Grand China Princess. Thanks bturner13 Dec 25, 03, 3:12 am For $19 more you can book the 5* Shangri-la on Priceline! We did for 11-15 Jan 04! Dan6681 Dec 25, 03, 7:58 am I tryed priceline already with a 5 star $60 bid first for one specific area then the whole city and it got rejected. I will try again in 3 days. Since there isn't much info on this prop. I am now probably going to book the JW Marriot at $90 if I can't get a better deal on priceline. I think the problem might be the dates 1jan-3jan. QFF Dec 27, 03, 1:52 am Grand China Princess is 3 star property. Never stayed but have passed it a few times. The main clientele seem to be Chinese travel groups. It is situated in the heart of Chinatown and is not really the most conveniently located hotel for touring or business. USD40 is about the normal negotiable price for a double room and you should get breakfast included for that price. QFF ------------------ Qa not Qu Happy Dec 27, 03, 3:56 pm We stayed in Grand China Princess in april 2002. it is an OK tourist hotel. lots of Asian tourists from neighbouring countries as well as budget-minded westerners stayed there. The room rate included a decent buffet breakfast featuring both oriental and western breakfast items. however the location of the hotel, the heart of China Town, probably is not an area enjoyable or convenient to most ordinary tourists/ businessmen. $90 for JW Marriot is certainly a far far better value than $40 for Grand China Princess, imho. |
