My family and I shall be travelling from Bangkok to Hua Hin and back, and we want to hire 2 cars with drivers to take us there. If anyone has experience of such a service, and could recommend someone reliable, I would be most grateful.
Thanks in advance.

Timely question as we did the trip from Hua Hin to Bangkok yesterday. The cost was 2000 baht (perhaps a little high, but the supply chain has to get paid.) I arranged the car (A Toyota Corona-The driver owns a mini-van, the car is his wife's) through a young lady named Thidarat who works for Budget Car Rental in Hua Hin-Budget does not have chauffered cars so she arranged the trip independently-the driver does pickups in Bangkok for the reverse trip.
The Hua Hin Hilton charges 4000 baht for the same trip.
Thidarat'snumber is available from me by e-mail in my profile if you are interested. The sevice was reliable, but expect to be driven in normal Thai fashion. There was some confusion about whether we were to be called in our room for our 0930 pickup or meet him in the lobby of Hua Hin Hilton. A cell phone call resulted in two followups to insure that we had met up with the driver.
I suggest that upon arrival in Thailand you buy a prepaid SIM. We used 1-2 call which is AIS. This and DTAC are touted to work best in all of Thailand. The 1-2 SIM cost me 350 baht and a top-up card is 300/500/?800 baht increments. Calls in Thailand are 5 Baht, Calls to the U.S. are 22 baht and a call to England is 40 baht per minute. The 1-2 SIM comes with 100 baht preloaded and expires in 30 days. Top-ups extend the expiration date.
Orange is a cheaper alternative, but alledgedly works only in Bangkok. Happy is another alternative, but I know nothing about it. Be sure that your phone is unlocked or the SIM will not work. Prices seem to vary for the SIMs depending upon who sells it to you.
Many thanks for your suggestions, Opushomes. I have sent you an email.
