Asia - Taitung hotel/banquet

Hello fellow travelers and world citizens:

I have occasion to be in Taitung in November and am looking for a place to throw a fancy banquet for some important relatives who are also local to the area.

I am also looking recommendations as to the best hotel/resort in the area to stay in.

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated. This is my first time meeting many of my wife's relatives and I want to make a good impression.

Are you talking about Taitung, Taiwan?

I am afraid you will be disappointed if you are thinking about high-end hotels. Taitung is one of the most romote counties in Taiwan and as I recall, no 5* or 4* hotel there. But I am sure there will be some high level restaurant to held your banquet..

Yes, Tatung Taiwan. I found a hotel that says that it is 5* (probably by Taitung standards) pretty close by in Chihpen called the Hotel Royal Chihpen near the Chingchueh temple (unusual according to the guide book because it houses a large white Jade buddha from Burma and a Golden one from Thailand).
