Do you speak Japanese? 1000k00 Aug 22, 02, 3:15 pm You do not specify when you will be there nor how long. Is this your first time there? Are you going to travel while you are there? I would like to steer you in the right direction if I knew more about your plans. rjh Aug 22, 02, 7:26 pm You'll find better variety for budget accomodation in nearby Kyoto (and Kyoto is a lot more interesting). However, here are a couple of places in Osaka in your price range. http://www.oct.zaq.ne.jp/nagai-yh/e-index.html http://www4.osk.3web.ne.jp/~osayh/osakaint.html You may want to invest in a Hostelling International membership http://www.iyhf.org/home_gb.html and pick up a copy of Lonely Planet Japan and Lonely Planet Kyoto. I almost hate to mention it, but you may also want to ask on rec.travel.asia or on the so-called Thorn Tree bulletin board at the Lonely Planet site.
