Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - Niue?

Has anyone here traveled to Niue?

I have done quite a bit of research on the destination but have yet to hear from anyone who has visited Niue as a tourist. I've talked to some Niueans (who now live in NZ) but would also like to hear opinions from some "outsiders".

Since there's basically 1 flight a week to/from the island, I'm interested in what tourists have thought of the country.

I know somebody who has visited Niue recently. She absolutely loved it and raved about it. She had to go via Tongatapu on Royal Tongan, but I belive there is now a flight from Apia, Samoa once per week continuing on to Auckland.

She usually posts in the lonelyplanet.com south pacific board (whenever somebody asks about Niue - which is rarely). So you might go there and do a search for older topics.

It seems like a wonderful place.
