Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - Palm Cove transfers
We're flying into Cairns and staying in Palm Cove.
What is the cheapest way to get to and from Palm Cove? I don't want to rent a car and have it sit there for 4 days (as we don't want to drive around). Is there a shuttle? How much is a taxi? Bus?

Sorry, itchy keying finger
There are no shuttles to Palm Cove. Taxi would cost you A$50 plus. Local buses runs hourly from the the depot beside the train station cost A$7, not really suitable if you have much luggage or are travelling in peak hour (which is pretty quiet in Cairns). If you are staying in one of the larger resorts (Novotel etc.) they have shuttle services from Cairns/airport to Palm Cove

I will try and remember the name of the company for you. In the mean time there is a company called Sun Palm Express Coaches which arranges transport from Cairns Aiport to Palm Cove, Port Douglas etc.
Check out the info here http://www.queenslandholidays.com.au/tropical_north_queensland/517747/svc_510684.cfm
Have fun at Palm Cove and have some Pizza for me.

Went to stay just nearby in Kuranda - you can (although it is not usually promoted for this purpose) take the Kuranda Scenic Railway from Cairns to Kuranda, then get a local cab or even hotel transfer to meet you and drive the rest of the way? Not the cheapest, but definately a fun way to get there, and much less twisty than the road!
