Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - Suggestions for motels in Tasmania and Brisbane

Motel near Brisbane AP with laundry. Looking for something that hopefully would have 2 washers and 2 dryers. Some takeaway or casual eatery nearby or one site. One night Sept 6 SEP. Any clean place is fine. Prefer a motel where such activity is easy to do. No real budget, thinking A$80-140. Just laundry and spend the night before going to the airport (domestic) the next morning (may want to return the car that night, so a shuttle service would be nice).BOOKED

Motel/Hotel near Melbourne Airport (A$100-200). This is a place to be to sleep before going to the airport the next day to go home. Will have turned in car (if shuttle/cab available). No sightseeing, just dinner, some wine and digesting our trip, balcony would be nice. Probably will use the Hilton at the airport.BOOKED

As far as Tasmania
Looking for a place to arrive at each day, at 16-17:00. Will have car, so eating there or offsite okay. Prefer motel, good parking. Again mid pricing to +. No B&B, ranch stays, or other activity based stays, as we are sleeping, breakfast and then up and off for the next day.

HBA one night (on arrival)BOOKED
Strahan (1 nt)BOOKED
Davonport (1 nt)BOOKED
Launceston (1 nt)BOOKED
Port Arthur (1 nt)BOOKED
HBA (3 nts)BOOKED

I have searched the web for places, but if someone local or experienced in the areas would like to make some suggestion, I would appreciate it.

ranles, as you may have already found, there's not a whole lot from which to choose close to BNE airport. And most of what's around is quite old and dingy, IMHO.

I'd try a serviced apartment for what you want - which will include laundry facilities in your own room if you book a 1 bedroom apt. Based on other Quests I've stayed in around Australia, I would expect this to be a very pleasant property.

QUEST ASCOT
Cnr Lancaster Rd & Duke Street
Ascot, QLD 4007
Office Telephone: 61 7 3630 0400
Office Fax: 61 7 3630 0401
E-mail:questascot@questapartments.com.au
website (http://www.questapartments.com.au/property/fs_display_property.asp?propertyid=23)

They quote a rack rate of A$150 for a 1bd apt, but the weekend rates are often less, as these are often populated by travelling businessmen.

It has the additional (significant, if you ask me) advantage of being just one short subruban block from Racecourse Road, Ascot - a delightful leafy dining and shopping precinct. (Everything from casual cafes and small supermarkets to classic Brisbane dining at Baguette (http://www.baguette.com.au/), for example.)

Thank you. I sent for their broshure and sent an e-mail to see if they have laundry facilities for there studios, a much lower priced alternative.

We stayed in a Quest for 3 nights in Fremantle. It was fine. The laundry in our room, tiny machines and the dryer from hell (wrinked everything) was iffy though.

We were down to the Airport Clayfield Motel, a newer facility...but I really could not get a real feel for the place. We were told to avoid the Airport International. None of the places really have shown much promise.
