Cruises - Star Cruise Asia
Some of friends of mine are planning to go for a cruise vacation on Star Cruise. It operates between Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Phuket. It has many facilities and all... I would just like to know opinions for those who have been on it. Cheers in advance...

The cruise is good. Superstar Virgo is in good shape. I’d choose a cabin with a balcony. It’s not much more expensive than a regular outside cabin but much nicer. And you get a dining credit plus other privileges.
We have enjoyed the excellent service and the good (not great) food. Be sure to visit the formal Italian restaurant with the fantastic paintings.
Two things that were not so good: Phuket is a tender port so it takes several hours until everybody is on shore and then again the port is not exactly in the center of the action. Maybe I’d skip the Phuket excursions and enjoy a quiet time on board. The main show in the theatre was very poor.
Finally, be aware that the owners of StarCruises come from the Casino business so you can guess what you are supposed to do on this ship.
Recommended.
Thank you for the info. I've been wanting to go for a cruise around asia but I didn't have any idea of what it is like.
If you don't mind, could you tell me where which city departure would be good?
Cheers.
We were on the traditional Sun – Wed cruise Singapore – Langkawi – Phuket – Singapore. You can combine this with a Wed – Fri Singapore – Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang) – Singapore. We (and most other passengers) didn’t do this and I find it a bit strange (also too expensive) to cruise from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and back. During the weekend SuperStar Virgo is cruising in open water, a tour that is only sold locally, maybe for gamblers.
I can’t comment on any other Ships or cruise hubs of StarCruises. Except that is must be great to depart / arrive on SuperStar Leo at Kowloon Ocean Terminal.
Have fun!
