Sport Hawk Int'l, a Canadian-based airline that carries the Raptors, Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, Senators and Oilers, has filed for bankruptcy protection, according to Susan Pigg of the TORONTO STAR, who notes 70% of the company's US$30M revenues last year "came from long term contracts with the sports teams." Sport Hawk CEO Neil Jamieson: "At this point, we are working very closely with our teams and our operating partners to try to construct a reorganization plan that would allow us to provide our teams with the confidence that we will be around for a long time. Right now, we don't have that ourselves, nor do they" (TORONTO STAR, 10/18).
