Afghan Taliban Threaten to Ban Overflights
Afghanistan's hardline ruling Taliban movement on Thursday threatened to ban foreign airlines from flying over the country because U.N. sanctions meant they lacked funds to maintain aviation control systems.
Taliban Foreign Minister Wakil Ahmad Muttawakil told a news conference in Kabul that his government could not support the aviation staff while its funds remained frozen under the sanctions.
