FAA Survey Team Arrives
The consultation delegation of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which classified Korea as a Category 2 country in aviation safety, arrived in Seoul Tuesday. Five members of the delegation, led by
Elizabeth Ericson, the head of the FAA Asian Pacific office, will visit the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation (MOCT) on Wednesday and Thursday to explain the
reasons for its decision. The delegation will then discuss on Friday appropriate measures to upgrade to Category 1, especially the requirement for pilots and training programs for maintenance inspectors.
