Long story...but I have to buy my neighbors (2) tickets R/T from DSM-OGG on specific Fridays next March (Spring Break). No room to move to different days. So far best fare I can find is about $800. While I'm sure the fares will likely come down, I'm worried that if I wait too long, the seats for these specific dates may get even higher. Can anyone provide advice?
Thanks!!!

A couple of thoughts:
1. DSM is absolutely horrendous for airfares. Would the fare be cheaper from KC, Minneapolis, or Omaha?
2. For March 16-23, Aloha shows $494 from Oakland, except the return changes planes in HNL. Check and see if there is a way they can get to OAK cheaply. Try the same plan for LAS, LAX, and PHX.
3. If you need the tickets right now , you can do your research and bid on Priceline, but be very aware of the myriad of terms and conditions. Assuming that you and your neighbor each have an email account and that they have two credit cards, you'd get at least two bids each week.

On ...some...airlines, if you buy the tickets now and see the price go down later you can do a 'rollover'. Call the airline and ask them to reprice the itinerary. If it prices at the lower fare they will refund the difference either to a travel voucher for the original payer, at no charge; or refund to original form of payment for a $75.OO fee. Internationally they will refund the cc at no penalty. However, the new fare is not guaranteed until the ticket is reissued. Check with the airline you're using and see if they do rollovers. I have seen people roll tickets over three and four times and have an $800-1500 tkt end up costing just three or four hundred. It pays to be persistent.
