Ansett workers to tell of collapse impact
Research starts today on the impact of the Ansett collapse on the company's workforce.

In a Victorian-government funded study, 600 former employees will be interviewed

A team from Melbourne University will assess the employment situation for pilots, flight attendants, baggage handlers and managers, following the carrier's demise.

Professor Michael Webber says the research will gauge the impact of losing a long term and secure job.

"There were a lot of different kinds of jobs [performed by] men and women, older, younger and so on," he said.

"In order to get some sense of what happened to each of those different kinds of people in those different kinds of jobs you have to talk to a relatively large number of people."
