Ansett Australian Global Rewards - Star Alliance Gold and Silver Benefits to end for Global Rewards

FYI The following was published in AC communication to staff.
Ansett Australia Is No Longer A Member Of Star Alliance. Due to the Ansett
Airlines declaration of bankruptcy stemming from the events of Sept. 11, on
April 12 the airline ceased to be part of Star Alliance. Star Alliance carriers
have agreed that Star Alliance Gold and Star Alliance Silver benefits will
continue to apply to Ansett Global Rewards members until April 30, 2002.

Afraid that we cannot attribute the demise of Ansett to the events of 9/11 - that collapse was a consequence of years of bad management. Is always nice to externalize blame, but so often covers the realities.
