Hi there, just getting into the flight review thing. I did this for Skytrax(www.airlinequality.com) and they never accepted it. Maybe you guys will take a look?
It is for a flight from Sydney to Melbourne a year ago September. Right now, Ansett is trying to survive. I hope they make it.
I found Ansett Australia to be a good airline. We were dissapointed when they replaced our widebody 767 with an Airbus 320 on our short flight from Sydney to Melbourne. Other than that, it was a delightful flight. They give you headsets for the inflight audio and I think, if I am correct, they showed a newsbroadcast as well.
They served a full lunch, tortellini, it was great. The seats were comfortable and the legroom very nice for coach on the aircraft. I was also impressed as to how they had carried out the service amidst extreme turbulence going into Melbourne.
I, personally, find the Australian people to be some of the most delightful and friendliest on the earth, so, if you put them on planes as flight crew, it is not hard for them to give good service.
As for lounges, they had some very nice lounges and while I didn't have acces to them as we flew coach and I am a Oneworld elite(their mortal enemy, LOL ), they were very nice and even gave us postcards.
I would definitely recommend them for travel to/from/ and within Australia. As for the comparisons made in regard to Air New Zealand domestic, we flew ANZ domestically and it wasn't any better, if anything, worse. I had found the Ansett crews to be much friendlier than on ANZ.
