Ansett staff hold pie-eating contest

They may have lost their jobs, but Ansett workers have not lost their
appetites.

Ten of the hungriest former employees of the airline and caterers Gate
Gourmet sat down to a pie eating contest in front of 100 comrades at
Sydney Domestic Terminal yesterday.

Runway cargo handler David Perryman took the day, wolfing down five
pies in just over two minutes.

Why did they do that? Was there a reason?

None that I can find out - unless it was some kind of fund raiser??? Or maybe just activities for out of work folks? I don't know. I thought it was the most bizarre news story I have seen come out about AN in a while http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
