Some better news. Air New Zealand via its bailout from the New Zealand Government, will be giving $150 million to Ansett as a severance payment, as well as writing off a $160 million claim against AN.
Over 25,000 tickets on AN II have been sold, and it is getting close to break even. More tickets were sold in the past 24 hours than in the previous week. The Ansett website is now getting more hits than the previous version. Rumours are circulating that 767s are getting ready to fly MEL/SYD-PER routes next week.
Call centre staffing levels have been increased, as well as operating hours.
Cheers,
Justin
