I am planning a trip to SYD with a side trip in the middle between Sydney and Perth. I looked up fares and there are only 2 kinds available. One is $484 AUD Sale fare which is only available for sale in AU/NZ ?!? Another is aroun $1500 AUD 5 day advance purchase.
What do I need to do in order to get that fare or is there any suggestion on getting a low fare between those cities?
I've read in some thread that there are some sort of passes, where can I find information on that and is that available for FF miles?

I can't help you as far as Ansett is concerned but I can give plenty of advice on Qantas.
One way on QF is AU$242, so return = AU$484.
Perth package which includes airfares and 3 nights accommodation is AU$586.
Main conditions are:
payment within 48 hours of booking and no later than 24 July, non-refundable, travel to be completed by 9th Spet and all payments must be received by 24th July, bookings must be done at least 14 days prior to departure.
I am sure that Ansett matches these fares.

The type of pass you are talking about can only be purchased via a travel agent outside of Australia and in conjunction with an International ticket. They are called something like G'Day or Boomerang passes. Both Qantas and Ansett offer these. Your agent should have details.

On both AN and QF, the Gday and Boomerang tickets can actually be purchased in Australia -- you need to show your passport (non-Australian/NewZealand) and your ticket to/from Australia. Check travelocity.com for fares. I recently paid A$202 each way SYD-MEL, which was a good deal considering no advance purchase, etc.

Are these passes good for miles?
I called and they quoted me $290 each way from SYD - PER.
Which one of the fares on travelocity do I know are the fares for this pass?
