Is there a way to see the available seats on particular HP flights? I have done a search and cannot find anything.
I usually fly AA and have that option, however it looks like I will be doing a lot of HP flying this year.
Thanks

Welcome to HP, spstx,
The only way I know of to see a seat map is to go through the initial stages of booking a trip on americawest.com. After you select your flights and get a price you can select seats prior to purchasing. This allows you to see the available seats and general load on the flight.
Keep in mind that generally, if you are not an HP Elite member you will not be able to see seats in the first few rows of economy that are blocked out for Elite members. Elite seat visibility is determined by your log-in and whether the system recognizes your Flight Fund number as an Elite member. In my experience some times it works, others it doesn't. Kinda like the rest of the airline, generally speaking.

Go to www.seatmap.com (http://www.seatmap.com) and plug in all the details of the flight you are interested in. Use "F" for First Class and "Y" for Coach, you then will be able to see all taken and available seats
Having trouble on the seatmap.com site. My office and home computer will only show rows 4-12. Am I doing something wrong?

Something is wrong, but I don't think it is you or your system. Same thing is happening for me.

It's nearly a year after the initial post and seatmap.com is now a password protected site and americawest.com will only show a seat map after you actually purchase a ticket.
So...does anyone know where to find a seat map for HP? I am doing the JFK/LAS on a 757-200 going and an A319-100 returning. I know they are both configured 3-3, but I still like a nice seat map.

book the flight on itn.net as an expert.

You do not have to go all the way through the purchasing process to see the seat map on americawest.com.
Select the flights you want and when you get to the screen where you enter credit card info you can first select your seats. There's a big red button. If you click on it, the seat maps come up so you can see what you're dealing with (assuming they have seats available for advance assignment. If the map doesn't come up, the flight is getting pretty booked). You're not committed to the purchase at that point.

I was not the person booking the ticket so itn.net was not an option. I tried americawest.com again and it was in fact the case that one of the flights was getting filled up (it was actually full when I checked back). I then tried it for some randon date and the seat map did come up. Thanks.

A person can sign up for expert status on itn.net(AMEX travel agency), and start any booking, choose the flight and the class, and look at the airline reported seat charts. Some airlines do not report. HP does report.
