As a result of all my AA flights out of LAX, and some flights to OAK/SAN/LAS, I've already qualified for Silver in 2005. I've been routing them PHX-LAS-LAX to gain some extra miles.

I really didn't think I would make it to Gold for 2005, but at this rate I may end up being Plat without taking a single transcon flight.

For those that really are trying to be HP elite, what's your mile count so far?

Are you trying to qualify by segments?

Yea. I'd never make Gold or Plat with miles. The majority of my trips are PHX to ONT, SNA, SJC and FAT<-I love that one!

i have 9 segments in my acct so far, march has another 11 planned, but just like you, when flying phx-lax, i always route through las vegas. i can't wait for the new las-bur midday run starting in april. has anybody noticed the schedule changes to las in march, express with a crj900 takes over two flights to sna and one midday flight to san

Back in my early HP-only days, I used to try to qualify by segments with trips to SAN/LAX/OAK. Now with today's prices it can cost just as much to fly to LAX as it does to fly transcon to BOS. Segment qualifying has become more expensive than doing by miles.

My busines is paying for a couple of upcoming PHX-LAX(via LAS) in coach. I paid an extra $50 and booked the flights in F. With the 50% COS bonus that's 3000 status miles.

Are you using UA to get to LAX/SFO?

3 segments, 3400 miles.

I refuse to fly them, unless there's no other reasonable option (LAX, SFO). It's too bad they gutted the bonuses. Only one upgrade as a Gold in 2004.

I have 28k miles with NW so far. Real food. All domestic portions upgraded to FC so far. And one op-upgrade on an Asian trip.

10 segments only 5K miles. I only do the Phoenix-San Diego shuttle but quite often so I will qualify for silver based on segments. Last year I had 43 segments and only 21500 miles as all flying was between vegas-phoenix-sd

My year has started off pretty slow, so only 3880 miles and 4 segments so far, but have a number of flights booked over the next few months.

Last year I did a lot of short hops PHX-LAS so ended the year with 1 segment short of Gold, but 428 miles over the minimum for Gold, so hopefully this year will have longer flights so that I can hit Gold sooner.
