I tried looking on the website and could not find it. Does anyone know when the codeshare flights start? Also, is there an option to upgrade on HI flights using HP miles?

The codeshare flights started back when HA started service to PHX.
I have not priced the HP codeshare fare on HA recently, but it used to be ridiculously high. (i.e. $875 R/T via HP vs. $399 R/T via hawaiianair.com)
There is no option for using HP miles to upgrade on HA. You can only get free tickets on HA via HP Flight Fund and they just got considerably more expensive a few months ago.
If flying on HA and expecting to earn miles into Flight Fund, there are only certain fare classes that qualify for mileage credit and/or elite qualification. Be sure yours does. Here is a link to the portion of the HP site that spells all this out. Under the HA section, click on the "Details" link to get the fare codes.
