Wouldn't it make more sense for the club to be airside? What a pain for connections! It's so much nicer to be beyond the stress of security when sitting in the club.

They may have considered it, but the realities of T1 is that space is very limited. The terminal also has no second story capacity like PHX. LAS was poorly designed.
Unless McCarren allows them to close a gate(B1,B2, or B6), I don't see an airside lounge happening for HP.
