-Looks like we will be dropping our SWA Visa after eight happy years. Long story, but the balance of favor for flying out of Phx has tipped to Am West it seems; and we might as well change everything over at once.

Anyway. I am thinking of getting either the HHonors Visa due to the lack of annual fee, albeit the drawback is that I already earn 100k HH points a year and there are just so many hotel stays that one can stand. The Am West Visa looks good, and we should be able to slap on ~40k extra miles per year via this route. -Hence, we would be looking at a total of 100k HH points and ~ 150k Am West miles per year with the HH/Am West approach.

Anyone have good or bad experience(s) with the Am West Visa? -The benefits are pretty basic, but the annual fee is not too bad ($45, I think). Thoughts on the above, anyone?

Well we finally took the dive about 2 month ago on the Plat. visa thru America West. So far we are really happy with the card. Miles are posted as soon as your billing cycle closes each month, double miles on flights booked thru America West.

The only downfall of this plat. card was the annual 75 bucks. We have done the math and since we usually travel together the 50. dollar companion travel at anniversary date will bring it down a few dollars. With that being said we figured we would score a few free tickets with this card and it will be to the positive for us. Also when we applied for the card we requested 2 cards so ALL charges go on the card to maximize it.

Good luck.

Add my name to those who are entirely happy with the Flight Fund Visa. I get prompt reporting of points to my account, and I get no telemarketing or other solicitations, as is done with some other cards.
