In 2003 I qualified for Silver. I actuall earned enough miles in mid December. Do they mail you a card? A Congrats letter?

I'd like to board early for my flights with the Elite members, but must admit that I would feel embarresed if they asked for my card, and I didn't have one.

Yes, you should receive your new card in the mail.

While you are elevated to Silver status in the system within a few days of qualifying, you won't get a new card until the 2004 packets go out -- usually the last day of February.

Ask the agent at check-in to stamp your boarding pass with the "Flight Fund Elite" stamp. Furthermore, if you are upgraded to First Class, pre-boarding shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, I have never needed the card with HP agents.

I carry it with me just to show the nasty people at the entrance to the TSA lines. (No, not the TSA... the first ID checker is usually an airport checker...MIA has the meanest...card helps there!)

I've never needed to show my elite card either

When I called about another issue today, the person on the elite line said that the Silver packets would be sent out mid-February. I would think all levels would all be at the same time. I guess we'll see if this is accurate sometime around the 20th of February.
