America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - Upgrades: PHX to WAS?

Hi all,

Generally how difficult are upgrades to get from PHX to WAS (preferably DCA)? Are they similar to NYC (nearly impossible)?

I do not yet know the dates, but it looks like I'll be flying BUR-PHX-DCA sometime in August. Since I have some time before I'll need to decide, what are the best days/times of the week to travel...when hoping for an upgrade.

Do I have much of a chance as a lowly Silver?

A freind of mine who was a gold would almost always get the U/G to BWI from PHX. He would fly out on Sunday afternoons. We would meet up in the HP club sometimes since his flight would usually leave at the same time my plane to EWR would.

I would think that BWI would be your best bet for the upgrade.

i am a silver as well, and the only route i have trouble with in the america west system is phx-bur, too many golds and plat that travel the route daily from what i was told. bur is home for me so i travel that every other month. will be a lot harder now that the airbus is gone out of bur in the new schedule
