America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - AW Credit Cards

I was looking at their site and noticed their cc promotion. Does anyone out there have the card? Can you cancel and keep the milage and do they ever waive the annual fee??

Not sure if you can cancel and keep the mileage...assumption is yes.

In terms of waiving the annual fee, it's an extremely rare exception to the rule....

I have their card. Its through Bank of America who I find very easy to deal with. The mileage earned from the credit card is credited every month to your flight fund account, so its not sitting in one of BoA's computers somewhere. One would assume that you could cancel and the miles would stay. That is the way it happened with my old Chase/Continental card.

I believe they divy out the sign-up miles out over time to avoid scam-seekers. Any miles you get from purchases are transferred monthly.

Waive the fee? I asked them about this. My argument was that I could get other credit cards for no annual fee...their answer...sure you can but none will give you miles.

Never had any problems with them.

"Scam-seekers?" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif The miles are posted into your account after the annual fee posts. Once you've paid the annual fee, you're entitled to the miles. Cancel whenever you feel like, but you won't get the enrollment bonus without paying the annual fee.

I have both the VISA credit card and VISA check card.
