You should not have closed the thread. I was looking forward to hearing some good discussion from our most frequent members comparing the United promotion to any that HP has offered. Are you saying we should not talk about other airlines promotion and not look at how they stack up with HP?

I think the Moderator was meant to handle things that were way out of hand or totally in the wrong place, this was not the case with this one. Please think more carefully before you pull this in the future. If I wanted to post it in the United form I would have. No offense Sean - but with 34 posts and registering 4 months ago - you should read the FT rules before *yelling* at the moderator. Discussion of UA promotions belongs in the UA forum - the moderator "call" was right ,IMO

Now as I said before nothing personal. I expected a reply from the person I posted the message for. However I am sure he appreciates you looking after him. Oh by BTW it's not Sean it's Shaun.

Now it's pretty easy to read the flyer talk terms and understand them. Regarding the thread, If I wanted to discuss the United promotion and compare it with AmericaWest there is nothing in the terms saying I can't and it is certainly my right. Obviously if I started the thread I wanted to discuss it with the HP community as this is the Airline I fly the most. Now the moderators can certainly suggest that the thread is in the wrong place and maybe post a message asking if anyone else had anything to say before it was closed, but there was no reason to just close it. If it was in active or it offended someone I could understand. Now as I said before it was a call it was just a trigger happy one.

Oh and just as I said I though this was a Bad call I think smantl01 made the right call on this and handled it well.
